1. Who we are

"Ankor" refers to the Chennai-based engineering company that operates this website. We are an AI consultancy and product engineering team serving clients globally. Our registered office is in Chennai, Tamil Nadu, India.

For the purposes of the EU GDPR, Ankor is the data controller for personal data collected via this site. For the purposes of India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act 2023 (DPDPA), Ankor is the Data Fiduciary.

2. What we collect

We collect only what we need to run the site and reply to you.

  • Contact-form submissions. When you fill out our contact form, we collect the name, email, and any other details you share (company, role, budget, project type, message). Submissions are processed by Formspree and forwarded to our inbox.
  • Analytics and advertising. We use Google Tag Manager to load Google Analytics 4 and, where applicable, the LinkedIn Insight Tag and Microsoft Clarity. These tools collect non-identifying information about your visit: pages viewed, approximate location (country or city), device and browser type, referrer, and interaction events.
  • Live chat transcripts. If you use our Tawk chat widget, your messages, along with a session identifier, are stored by Tawk so we can reply. Do not share sensitive data in chat.
  • Server logs. Our hosting provider records standard request logs (IP address, timestamp, URL, user agent) for security and reliability.

We do not knowingly collect sensitive categories of personal data (health, financial account numbers, biometric data) through this website.

3. Lawful bases

  • Legitimate interest — for basic analytics that help us measure and improve the website, and for responding to unsolicited business inquiries you send us.
  • Consent — for non-essential cookies and marketing tracking in jurisdictions that require it (including the EU/EEA, UK, and certain US states). Where required, we collect consent before these tags load.
  • Contract — where we are engaged by you under a signed agreement, we process data as described in that contract and any associated data processing addendum.

4. How we use your data

  • To reply to your inquiry and schedule follow-up conversations.
  • To understand how the site is used and improve it over time.
  • To measure the performance of marketing campaigns we may run on platforms like LinkedIn.
  • To detect and prevent spam, abuse, and fraud.
  • To comply with applicable legal obligations.

We do not sell your personal data. Ever.

5. Third-party processors

We use a small number of trusted vendors to operate the site. Each has its own privacy policy and handles data on our behalf under a data processing agreement where required. The list below is accurate as of the "Last updated" date at the top of this page.

  • Formspree — contact form processing.
  • Google (Tag Manager, Analytics 4) — site analytics and tag delivery.
  • Tawk — live chat widget.
  • LinkedIn (Insight Tag) — audience measurement and retargeting where enabled.
  • Microsoft Clarity — session analytics and heatmaps where enabled.
  • Cloudflare and/or Firebase Hosting — content delivery and hosting.

If we add or remove vendors, we'll update this list and the "Last updated" date.

6. Cookies and tracking

Cookies are small files stored on your device. We use two broad categories:

  • Strictly necessary — required for the site to function, including session identifiers for the chat widget.
  • Analytics and marketing — loaded via Google Tag Manager (GA4, LinkedIn Insight, Microsoft Clarity where enabled). In regions requiring consent, these load only after you opt in.

You can manage cookies in your browser settings. Blocking analytics cookies will not affect your ability to use the site.

7. Data retention

  • Inquiry emails — retained for up to 24 months after the last interaction, unless a client engagement contract specifies otherwise.
  • Analytics data — retained according to the default retention window of each provider (for example, GA4 uses 14 months unless we configure it differently).
  • Chat transcripts — retained per Tawk's default policy.
  • Server logs — retained for a short period for security and then rotated.

8. Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to:

  • Access the personal data we hold about you.
  • Correct inaccurate data (rectification).
  • Request deletion of your data (erasure / right to be forgotten).
  • Receive your data in a portable format.
  • Object to or restrict certain processing.
  • Withdraw consent at any time, where processing is based on consent.
  • Nominate a consent-manager in India under the DPDPA.
  • Lodge a complaint with your local data-protection authority.

To exercise any of these rights, email team@ankor.us with enough detail for us to locate your record. We aim to respond within 30 days.

9. International transfers

Ankor is based in India. The vendors we use may process data in the United States, the European Union, and elsewhere. Where personal data is transferred out of the EU/EEA or the UK, we rely on the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses (SCCs) or equivalent safeguards offered by the vendor.

10. Security

We use reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect data, including HTTPS/TLS in transit, access controls on internal systems, principle-of-least-privilege for vendor tools, and data processing agreements with our vendors. No system is perfectly secure — if you suspect a security incident, please email team@ankor.us.

11. Children's data

This site is not directed at children under 18. We do not knowingly collect personal data from minors. If you believe a child has submitted personal data to us, please email team@ankor.us and we will delete it.

12. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as our practices and the law evolve. When we do, we'll change the "Last updated" date at the top and, for material changes, post a notice on the site.
